'The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)' or 'To run this application you must first download one of the following versions of the .NET Framework: v2.0.50727'
SharePod needs the Microsoft .NET 2 Framework to work correctly.
Does SharePod support my iPhone / iTouch?
Yes! SharePod lets you copy tracks to and from your iPhone/iTouch
I get 'System.IO.IOException: The parameter is incorrect' error messages
Your iPod disk may have some problems. To do a disk check on your iPod, right click on the iPod (in My Computer), select Properties > Tools > Error Checking. Check both auto fix errors and scan for bad sectors.
How do I get my iPod playlists into iTunes?
Either right-click on an individual playlist and select 'Copy to PC' or click 'Backup iPod' which will select all playlists.
How do I reorder tracks in a playlist?
Hold down the Alt key as you drag the selected track(s) up or down the playlist with the mouse.
SharePod cannot find my iPod even though it is plugged in
SharePod searches for a removable drive containing an 'iPod_Control\iTunesDB' file to detect your iPod. If your iPod has just been restored or new, it may not have the required files for SharePod to know the drive is an iPod. Please run iTunes, which will correctly initialize your iPod with all the required files.
How do I select multiple tracks in the track list?
Hold down the Shift and Ctrl keys and as you click just like you do in Explorer.
I get a message saying "iTunes has locked the iPod database. Please wait for iTunes to finish synchronizing."
SharePod looks for a file called 'iTunesLock' on your iPod. iTunes creates this file when it is updating your iPod. If you get this message and dont have iTunes running, it has left behind a file it shouldn't have. To fix this, open your iPod in My Computer, and go to the hidden folder 'iPod_Control\iTunes'. Delete the file called 'iTunesLock'.
How do I stop the iPod from auto sync'ing when connected to iTunes? If I auto-sync, I'll lose some of the music that's only on my iPod!
While connecting the iPod to the computer, hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys. This will stop the iPod from auto sync'ing with iTunes. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted and iTunes appears.
Right click on the iPod icon in iTunes' source column and select iPod Options, then check the box that says "Manually manage songs and playlists". You can now manage your library manually without losing any songs on the iPod.
How can I get the music off my Mac-formatted iPod?
Install MacDrive. There is a free 30 day trial which will allow your Windows computer load a Mac iPod like a Windows iPod. Then simply use SharePod as normal to get all music from it ('Backup iPod' button).
How come you are giving SharePod away for free while other people are selling similar products?
I work on SharePod when I have time (and sometimes when I have no time..!) for the enjoyment of creating something cool. I do appreciate small donations to help keep me motivated.
